Volunteer cat cuddlers spend time giving shelter cats what they want most: calm company and affection. Duties include sitting with cats, offering pets, brushing, and playtime. You’ll help shy cats gain confidence, give outgoing cats their social fix, and keep everyone mentally stimulated and relaxed.
Cat cuddlers also keep an eye out for changes in behavior, help cats get comfortable with handling, and make them more adoptable just by being kind and consistent. No heavy lifting, no medical care — just patience, soft voices, and a willingness to let a cat decide if today is a “sit next to you” or “sit on you” kind of day.
Time: Cuddlers can come in any time the shelter is open and stay 15 minutes or for hours. Whatever works for your schedule, there is no specific time commitment. Even a short visit can make a big impact.
