July 9, 2009: Art Walk Benefits Shelter
It’s true: Ilwaco’s July 9th Art Walk is going to the dogs!
The Merchants at the Port of Ilwaco have selected our Shelter as beneficiary of their July 9th Art Walk! The Shelter will receive approximately 10% of all proceeds generated at the Port during their July 9th Art Walk. Please, support the merchants who support the Shelter!
Ilwaco’s Summer Art Walks are a great time. Meet artists, listen to music, hobnob with your neighbors, have dinner, stroll along the waterfront. Bring Fido. While he might not be welcome in all the shops, the Port is very pet-friendly, with watering stations and tie-ups throughout.

June 11, 2009 spotlights the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, an incredible and valuable community asset that has come a very long way from Noreen Robert’s dream to the fine organization we see today under the terrific stewardship of Betsy Millard.
July 9th goes to the dogs!
August 13th is the third Art Walk of the season and turns attention on two very worthy causes. The first being the newly renovated Ilwaco Community Building. After years of hard work Ann Saari and her fine committee of dedicated volunteers have found themselves short of the necessary funds for landscaping. Merchants will also lend a hand to the Peninsula Players, a small group of talented local thespians that continue to produce fine presentations.
September 10th is the final Art Walk of the season and will benefit the GrassRoots Garbage Crew. They have been keeping the peninsula’s beaches clean and beautiful for over eight years now and have just recently gotten acclaim from National Public Radio’s award winning show, Etown.
