Cheri Diehl, Broker of Discovery Coast Real Estate, says:
This time of the year I start worrying about homeless pets languishing in shelters. Thankfully, the South Pacific County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter, but it’s still not a forever home. Now until December 24, you can adopt a pet and Discovery Coast Real Estate will pay 50% of your adoption fee. There are even some adoptable cats totally sponsored by us. All you need is a loving home and a big heart. Be sure to ask about the “Black Lab Special” for even more fun!
Come in today to meet the pets Cheri has sponsored for adoption!
Visit Cheri’s page on her adorable Boxer, Porsche, and meet her happy household of cats.

Dennis Company in Long Beach

Dennis Company has long been a supporter of SPCHS, even hosting our Pet Photos with Santa for the past several years. Most recently, the Long Beach store provided puppy food for some of the dogs we took in from Harney County Save A Stray, who is working to save dogs from what seems to be the worst hoarding case in Oregon history. Thanks, Dennis Company!

These fleece coats are really yummy–super soft and warm, even in the usually-neglected chest area. Click the photo above to see for yourself. They also make scarves and blankets and… you’ve just got to go look. I can hardly wait to try them on the dogs tomorrow at our Raffle Prize Drawing! Stay tuned; we’ll post pics.
A BIG THANK YOU to BUB for this most generous donation!
Here’s how you can help stop the shivering: For every 20 fans that BUB logs on Facebook, a worthy rescue gets a donated coat. It’s that simple. Check them out!

Creating the connections for change in leadership, organizational development,
training, coaching, and the employee experience.
Sundog Solutions Consulting focuses on development and training for individuals and organizations when they get “stuck.” This can take many forms such as training, organizational development, coaching, and strategic alignment of our most valuable assets – people!
Sundog Solutions Consulting was created in 2006 in honor of the passing of the famous Minger Dawg. When helping an organization move through change I always remember what the Minger Dawg taught me.
• Patience – you may want it now; others may see it differently depending on their own values.
• Go slow to go fast – Ming was a chow/sheepdog and she may not have the speed of a greyhound, however she always reached her goal.
• Wag more and bark less –Look at things from what we can accomplish versus we have done wrong. This is a great catalyst for change.

Our fabulous Treasurer, Jane Holeman, received this wonderful news in response to her grant application to the Pedigree Foundation:
On behalf of The PEDIGREE Foundation, we would like to congratulate South Pacific County Humane Society on being approved for a grant. We cannot confirm the contribution amount that will be distributed at this time as we are still awaiting grant applications.
Monies are raised throughout the year and distributed to 501(c)(3) registered non-profits based on the number of approved organizations, how many dogs are impacted by your organization and the amount of money The PEDIGREE Foundation has raised.
As the deadline on September 30, 2009 approaches, we will begin to determine a contribution amount for South Pacific County Humane Society based on these criteria. We support what South Pacific County Humane Society is doing to help ‘dogs in need find loving homes’ and are honored to make a contribution to this cause.
We look forward to hearing from you throughout the year on the progress and update of your program. Please contact us through our website at www.pedigreefoundation.org.
Our best wishes for your continued good work in Helping Us Help Dogs.
Sincerely,
The PEDIGREE Foundation
Thanks, Pedigree Foundation, and Jane!
