Fuzzy Wuzzy Was A Xolo

Fuzzy Wuzzy: Hairless but hopeful in Long Beach

It seems to be very fashionable these days for men who are “hair challenged” to simply shave their heads for a nice clean look- it even seems that some men who have full heads of hair are shaving their heads to “rock the look”.

Well, if this clean-shaven look is all the current  trend, little Fuzzy Wuzzy must be quite the “fashionista”! The only difference is that  she was born stylish. She is a mix of an  unusual breed named a Xoloitzcuintli, or in our country, the Mexican Hairless. Evidence shows that this breed has existed in Mexico for more than 3,000 years, and is the national dog of Mexico.

The Xolo, as this breed is nicknamed, are known to be of high intelligence, very curious, and when raised properly, can be very well-behaved and affectionate companions.

Fuzzy is a very sweet little girl, and has almost a comical look with her fuzzy topknot and tail- the rest of her  has spots of  “peach fuzz”- needless to say, petting her is a unique experience. She loves to to for walks and is in heaven when someone will take time to play with her.

She would make a wonderful companion for someone with allergies, or someone who doesn’t want to make the investment in one of the new and expensive “pet-friendly” vacuums. No globs of hair left everywhere with this girl!

Fuzzy  is one of our “long-timer” dogs and it would be wonderful for her if someone would come along and give her a chance at a real life. She needs her own kind human to hold her and keep her warm in the winter- dog sweaters are good, but warm people are even better!
