Black Lab/ beach dogs special!!!

We have five exceptionally nice black lab mixes at the shelter now for adoption- three girls and 2 boys, all young dogs. They are being offered at reduced adoption rates to loving homes, and will make wonderful additions in  their new households.

It is a sad but true fact that black animals, both dogs and cats, are often the last to be adopted from shelters, despite their nice personalities- for some reason, they tend to get overlooked in an adoption arena filled with more brightly-colored pets. Because of this,  we are reducing our already-low adoption fees even further, hoping that potential adopters will be even  more willing to see the true colors of the hearts of these nice dogs- hearts that want to be loved and to give love in return. Come in today and ask to see our Black Lab Specials!!!

Mellow Miss Muffin waits and waits…

Little Muffin came to us as a stray way back in May, and has been hoping to find her forever home ever since then. She is an easy-going and quiet cat, and for that reason, has been overlooked for months as people notice the more outgoing cats and kittens in the cat playroom.

She loves to be petted, and has a wonderfully soft,  easy-care “bunny fur” coat. She would blossom in a quieter home, and would be a wonderful companion for someone wanting an affectionate yet  undemanding “easy keeper” kitty. Please think about giving this sweet kitty a chance. She has been passed over long enough.

Shelter Wish List: Please help us feed needy local families

Our food drive for needy families (human families!) is under way, and we are very much hoping our wonderful supporters will step forward with food donations for F.I.S.H., a local organizations that assists less fortunate  families in our area. Right here in our backyard are children who aren’t getting enough to eat…

Please bring donations to the shelter at 330 2nd St. E. in Long Beach during our normal business hours Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 4pm. We can accept both perishable and non-perishable foods.

As always, we are very grateful for the support of our shelter and the needy pets in our care- now we would also like to help some of our human friends! Thank you!!
