A Lonesome Dove and a Lady-in-Waiting
“Dove” is a beautiful young cat that has a wonderful, sweet personality. I know this to be true, because I had the pleasure of fostering her and her 6 white kittens at my home. In this picture, you see Dove with some of her babies peeking over her- but in reality, this is an older picture, and her kittens have all found good homes, leaving her waiting for hers.
Now it is time for this dedicated young mom cat to find her forever home. Dove is very calm, affectionate, and has good house manners. She would probably do well with older kids, and another cat or two. She still has her maternal feelings, and has fallen for several of the kittens in the playroom. It would be wonderful if she could go to a home with one of them- yes, this is a shameless hint!
“Lady” is a cute Corgi/Collie (?) mix that is very much yearning for a good home. She has been at the shelter for a while now, and one can tell it is wearing on her… Lady is a mature dog that has nice manners and loves to go for walks. It would be great if someone could help her lose a few pounds, and she could have even more bounce in her step!
A few weeks ago, a nice woman took Lady to her home for a trial adoption. The human lady was very much enjoying the company of this nice dog, and all was going well until some of the neighbor dogs stopped by for a “meet and greet”. This affair made Lady grumpy, which sadly resulted in a failed adoption. So, it would appear that Lady wants to be an “only child”- but she is an “only child” that would have a lot of love and devotion to show her new family.
Please come and meet Lady. She needs a second chance.

We are always especially happy when we receive support from young people in our community. Recently Long Beach Elementary students Isabelle Grotting and Isobella Matzen and their classmates raised some money for the shelter.
We are very grateful for their kindness and for caring about the animals.
