Our “Black Beauty” special continues!
Last week, we featured some of our nice lab mix dogs at reduced adoption rates, hoping this might encourage adopters, and some of our black beauties did indeed find loving homes. We are continuing this special, as we still have some wonderful ebony canines available.
“Johnny” is a handsome, sweet, and athletic 15-month old lab mix who came to us from another shelter. At the other facility, he was very frightened and nervous, but he has settled very nicely into our shelter and has quickly become a staff favorite. Johnny loves people, walks, and most of all, tennis balls and Frisbees. He would be delighted to find an active owner who has a good “throwing arm”.
“Mei-Mei” came to us over this past weekend. Her young owner went away to college, and the rest of the family didn’t have time for her. She is a beautiful, very affectionate 3 year old lab/spaniel mix that seems very bewildered and sad to be in a shelter and not in her home. But, one can tell by looking into her large brown eyes that she is very anxious to start a new life, and she would be a wonderful addition to her new family.
If you are considering bringing a new dog into your heart and home, please come and see our “Black Beauties”. Not only could you find your next best friend, you could bring him or her home at a reduced fee. A win-win situation all around!!!
We are still smitten with kittens
Our late kitten season is running true to form- we still have some wonderful kittens for adoption- all colors and sizes. All with wonderful “purrsonalities”! This week we also received some very pretty “Main Coon”- type kittens. Main Coon cats are known for their mellow, loving dispositions, and are extremely handsome, large kitties.
Shelter wish list
We wish to thank our supporters for all the recent, generous donations of dog and cat food, dog collars, and other much-needed supplies. Without all of you, we wouldn’t be able to make life better for the needy animals in our care. We are very grateful.
