Sweet little Snowball lives in a silent world

This beautiful petite white kitty with the gorgeous azure eyes came to us as a stray. She brought with her tiny kittens that she had been struggling to raise. It was only when she and her kittens went to a foster home that we realized that Snowball is deaf.

Unfortunately, deafness is a fairly common genetic defect in white cats that have blue eyes. Not all white blue-eyed cats are deaf, but some are, and poor little Snowball was sadly dealt the deafness cards…

Snowball is very affectionate, and loves to be touched and petted. Because of her handicap though, she tends to frighten easily and needs loving reassurance. It would be wonderful if someone would adopt her who has had some experience with deaf pets, so that she could be given the special home she needs so badly.

She is sponsored, and her adoption fee has been reduced. Please call or come in and meet this special beauty. She needs you.

We have little ones!!

Currently we have an unusual number of very cute small dogs available for adoption. We have been working with a group that rescues abused and neglected smaller dogs, and have received several little guys- most Chihuahua mixes.

All these small dogs are outgoing and seem to love people, in spite of their previous life histories. They are ready to wiggle and waggle their way into loving new homes!!!

We want to help local needy human families, too- Food Drive

We are always very touched by the compassion and support shown to needy pets in our care. Now we are asking for help in providing assistance to local needy human families by having a food drive at the shelter. All food donations received will be given to F.I.S.H., the local organization that provides assistance to local people in need.

Times are hard, and will only get worse as winter approaches. Right here on the peninsula are families living in cars. Families whose children don’t get enough to eat. We can accept both perishable and non perishable food for this drive. Especially needed are good sources of proteins for the kids. Donations of highly nutritious items such as eggs, cheese, peanut butter, milk, cereal, and meat would be wonderful, as well as staple items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, etc. Please help us help these needy families, and buy some extra items to donate to this food drive on your next shopping trip. Thank you for caring!
