We’re balancing the Shelter’s 2018 budget.
The increase in minimum wage here in Washington has hit us hard. Thanks to a key donation, we made it through 2017 without cutting staff hours or services.
Our Board has trimmed what little “fat” there was in our budget, and added fundraisers to the maximum our current volunteer roster can manage. Still, we have a shortfall and need to find another $10,000 to accommodate this year’s step toward a $15 minimum wage.
We are lucky to be fully funded by our supporters, receiving no public funds for our work with the homeless pets of Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula, and the dogs we are able to pull from high kill-rate shelters in the region. We don’t want to have to cut staff hours or reduce the number of pets we care for and rehome.
Please help us bridge the budget gap by shopping often and bidding high!
